Issue NIST, a department of the United States Department of Commerce is charged with strengthening the U.S. economy and improving the quality of life by working with industry to develop and apply technology, measurements, and standards. In 2001, NIST celebrated its centennial and required a poster to promote its History and Reunion Day which would take place simultaneously at its Gaithersburg, MD and Boulder CO campuses, linked by satellite broadcast. Solution A dramatic poster was designed which focused on the centennial theme and depicted recent NIST scientific breakthroughs. A timeline successfully outlined the events occurring on both campuses, in different time zones. Centennial Poster
